Synopsis
The Piccirilli Factor uncovers the forgotten legacy of the Italian immigrant family whose chisels gave form to America’s ideals in stone. From the Lincoln Memorial and the USS Maine Monument to Daniel Chester French’s Republic, the Piccirilli Brothers transformed marble into national icons—yet their names nearly vanished from history.
Filmed in consultation with curators at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and supported by the Columbus Citizens Foundation, this new documentary by Eduardo Montes-Bradley brings to life the unseen artisans behind the City Beautiful movement. Through rare archival discoveries, on-site cinematography, and expert interviews, The Piccirilli Factor reveals how collaboration between architects, sculptors, and master carvers shaped the monuments that still define the American landscape.
